Motorist news - Fuel spend limits for holders of car insurance for women
A survey undertaken by AA/Populus, has revealed that more than 25% of motorists in the UK are restricting the amount they spend on fuel due to the high costs of petrol and diesel, and according to the study, drivers with car insurance for women are spending much less on fuel than male motorists.
The research shows that 28% of all road users, including those with women's car insurance, pay a set amount on their credit card or in cash, but 23% in total have had to increase that set amount.
Furthermore, amongst unskilled workers, long-term unemployed individuals, and pensioners the number of drivers setting limits on how much they pay at the pumps increases to 44%, and even amongst the top socio-economic group 21% of drivers are trying to reduce their fuel costs.
Reportedly most of the people who are choosing to spend less on their fuel reside in Northern Ireland, north-west England and Wales.
The president of the AA stated, "Consumers are cutting out one in 20 trips, shopping closer to home, combining trips and watching pump prices like hawks. Some are putting their lives and those of others at risk of grinding to a halt by running on fumes."
Although the price of fuel is becoming a financial strain for many British motorists, road users with car insurance for women or men should be aware that by failing to top up their tank with enough petrol or diesel they are increasing their risk of breakdown.
