Motor news - Holders of car insurance for women and men make roads busier
Car insurance news - Congestion to worsen for men and women's insurance holders
The RAC foundation has released a report estimating that traffic volumes will have increased by 47% in 2035, creating longer traffic delays for holders of car insurance for women and men.
It is thought that over the next 25 years four million more men and women's car insurance holders will have cars on the roads, and lower transport infrastructure spending will not help to ease road congestion.
Professor Stephen Glaister, RAC director, has said that ministers do not have any plans for dealing with the predicted road conditions.
According to the report, the RAC Foundation, alongside consultancy group Arup, has discovered 95 road schemes which have not been developed any further by the Department for Transport.
Roads Minister Mike Penning said, "Transport investment was treated as a priority for government in the spending review and we have committed £4 billion on Highways Agency major projects, capital maintenance and enhancements.
"This substantial investment, alongside funding for the local road network, will drive economic growth and boost the UK economy."
Unless action is taken to prevent road congestion, holders or car insurance for women and men are likely to experience more traffic jams in the future.
