Cheap car insurance news - Car insurance quote for those worried by crime
Car insurance news - Car crime worrying many UK motorists
Research commissioned by a car insurance quote provider, undertaken on its behalf by YouGov, has shown that many UK motorists are concerned that their vehicle will be broken into or stolen.
Despite only 16% of the insurance company's customer's cars being stolen in 2011 compared to 54% a decade before, and similar percentages being recorded for vehicle break-ins, almost 74% of road users are fearful of being the target of car crime.
A spokesperson for the motor insurance firm stated, "This anxiety could be linked to a general sense of unease about the state of the country and the economy in particular; our cars are, after all, one of the most valuable things we own."
Anyone who is worried that they may fall victim to car crime and whose car insurance is up for renewal should make sure that the car insurance quotes they receive are not for third party cover.
Third party fire and theft and comprehensive insurance may not be the cheapest car insurance available, but, unlike third party cover, they will protect the insurance holder should they be unfortunate enough to have their vehicle damaged through criminal activity.
In the event of vehicle theft, some insurers, such as insurethebox, which use telematics technology offer a tracking service as part of their insurance product.
