Cheaper insurance news - Better car quote for villagers may be possible

Insurance news - Car insurance quotes could be made cheaper for villagers

Villagers who own vehicles and are concerned by road safety and insurance prices may be interested in a new report titled Traffic in Villages which has been endorsed by the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT), Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and the Dorset Design and Heritage Forum (DDHF).

The report was commissioned by Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Dorset AONB) and lists different ways in which motorists passing through villages can be encouraged to drive more slowly and with greater care, without adding more road signs and speed cameras which spoil the look of an area.

Suggested changes include chalk drawings on asphalt and walls to signify the presence of a school, setting up tables on pavements outside cafes, pubs and restaurants, changing road surfaces, narrowing roads, and erecting market stalls in the streets.

Many car owners who see these innovative road safety ideas used within their community could benefit from a reduction in their car insurance quote costs as their village may become less of a high-risk area for insurers.

The author of the report, Ben Hamilton-Baillie, explains that the changes will have the same psychological effect on motorists as a supermarket car park does. Obvious signs that there are pedestrians nearby, will, in most instances, automatically make a visiting driver slow their vehicle, he says.

Furthermore, he states, "What you're doing is welcoming the driver as part of the village. It appears to change the perception and expectations in the drivers' mind."
Mr Hamilton-Baillie's belief is that this ‘welcoming' environment will lead to road users taking more care as they pass through a village instead of driving without paying attention to their surroundings.

These modifications to village layouts might mean that due to a subsequent reduction in the number of accidents caused by visitors to the area and drivers passing through, villagers who are looking for a cheaper car insurance policy will consequently find a suitable a href="http://www.insurethebox.com/cheap-car-insurance/car-insurance-quote-which-could-improve-your-driving">car insurance quote more easily.
