Pay as you drive news - Telematics car insurance can reduce premiums
Car insurance news - Telematics one way of reducing policy prices
Road safety minister Mike Penning has backed the role of telematics car insurance products in a hope for reduction of car accidents in the UK.
Mr Penning stated to the Post Online that making sure drivers had a better knowledge of the Highway Code before they began seeking GPS car insurance, and other types of cover, would also be highly beneficial to the safety of road users.
The minister said, "Telematics has the potential to help drivers access more affordable insurance premiums, but we know this isn't the only solution…
"That is why we have made changes to the driving [theory] test and are looking at what more we can do to make sure that all drivers are better prepared for life on the road. In addition we are taking tough action against uninsured drivers who push up costs for the honest majority."
Drivers who want to reduce the cost of their cover may find that a telematics car insurance policy helps them to save money, as well as taking an advanced drivers course such as Pass Plus.
