Women’s car insurance news - Small car sales have dramatically increased
Car insurance news - Men and Women's new cars send August sales soaring
Reports show that UK car sales rose in August for the first time in 14 months. The news suggests that the number of men and women's car insurance holders has also increased accordingly.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has claimed that 59,346 new cars were registered in August which is a 7.3% rise on the year before.
September, which sees the launch of new registration plates, is usually busier for car sellers than August which is one of the quietest months for car sales. The SMMT has stated that consumers are remaining anxious about the economic outlook.
Paul Everitt, chief executive of the SMMT, said, "August represents a relatively small share of the new car market and the September new 61-plate registrations will be far more important for the UK motor industry, accounting for about 17% of the full year's registrations."
The report has revealed that drivers, including women's car insurance holders, have created a dramatic increase in the sales of small cars. Small cars are known to have a lower car insurance price than larger models. The Ford Fiesta remains to be the UKs best selling model with policy holders buying 3,213 models throughout the month.
