Quote news - Cheap young driver car insurance still possible
Young driver car insurance news - Figures paint grim picture
Young driver car insurance quote seekers are among those to have suffered most over the past 12 months, according to the latest indexes detailing premium prices in the motor insurance market.
The advantages of alternative and innovative young driver car insurance deals, such as low mileage arrangements, are laid bare by the figures, which show that drivers between the ages of 17 and 22 have experienced premium rises of 6.6% in the space of only three months.
However, it is not only younger drivers who are feeling the pressure – drivers between the age of 60 and 69 experienced price rises of 5% during the full twelve month period.
The director of the British Insurance Premium Index, which published the figures, commented, "The cheaper deals are disappearing. Young drivers seem to be the biggest losers with a higher than average increase for them. It is clear that young drivers continue to be of concern to insurers, while many no longer offer cover to those under 21."
However, for those drivers who look to compare policies and are prepared to take up innovative young driver car insurance products such as low mileage cover and products which use telematics boxes, the chances of receiving affordable young driver car insurance may be much greater.
