New driver news - Smart signs and young driver car insurance holders
Transport news - Young driver car insurance holders could see congestion end
Young driver car insurance holders who use motorways could benefit from a new government scheme to reduce congestion.
Transport ministers, Mike Penning and Norman Baker, have unveiled plans for new "smart" digital signs which will provide motorists with information about non-motorway routes which could get them to their chosen destination quicker.
The Department for Transport, according to Mr Penning, sees current levels of delays as unacceptable as they are reportedly damaging the country's economy and transportation network.
The hope is that once drivers are presented with alternative routes, the traffic on the motorway will flow better and delays will be reduced.
There is also a possibility that some new drivers will welcome the signage if they find the motorway too overwhelming. Being offered different routes could help them improve their driving skills and knowledge of the road system by directing them to different areas of the highway network.
Whatever the reason for young driver car insurance holders and experienced motorists choosing to change their journey's course, the Department for Transport will be hoping that the scheme proves worthwhile and helps to relieve motorway congestion.
