Clear Box Technical Specification
Clear Box Technical Specification
insurethebox has a new approach to car insurance. We fit a telematics Clear Box to our customers’
cars to collect data about their driving behaviour. This information enables us to manage claims better
and encourage our customers to drive more safely. Safer driving and fewer claims results in cheaper
car insurance for our customers.
We aim to be transparent in our conduct with our customers and so we have included the technical
specification of the Clear Box we use to collect customer data.
The ‘Clear Box’ telematics device used by insurethebox is supplied by Octo Telematics S.p.A..
The Clear Box is based on GPS and GSM/GPRS technologies and embedded microprocessor
architecture and includes a high precision accelerometer and memory log.
The device covers a wide range of in-car telematics applications, from Anti-theft Satellite Device to
data capture for motor insurance purposes.
