About the job

We are looking for a Reserving Actuary to join our Actuarial division, based in London. You will be responsible for leading the production of key actuarial information and reports for UK portfolios including best estimate reserves in line with the Group’s and insurance companies’ reserving policies and Technical provisions in line with Solvency II requirements.

Your role responsibilities

  • Determine best estimate of claim reserves on a quarterly basis
  • Report on best estimates in accordance with company requirements and regulatory standards
  • Facilitating discussion of reserving risks, to enable Reserving Committee to set margin in line with company Reserving Policy
  • Preparing and delivering presentations for the UK Reserving Committee, setting out best estimate reserves and key judgements and uncertainties
  • Calculating technical provisions in accordance with Solvency 2 regulations
  • Supervise Actuarial Analysts

Key skills needed  

  • 3+ years of general insurance actuarial reserving experience
  • Up to date knowledge of actuarial reserving techniques
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant UK and EU regulations (e.g. Solvency 2)
  • Appetite for hands-on, technical actuarial work, and ability to reach pragmatic solutions when needed
