Does Courtesy Car Cover Plus provide me with a hire car if mine is immobile?

This policy provides a courtesy car for up to 21 days if your car is declared a total loss following an accident that was your fault, or as a result of fire, lightning, flood, vandalism, explosion, theft or attempted theft.  For all other instances, a courtesy car is provided under the  terms of your policy when a valid claim is made.

To receive the courtesy car hire you must meet the following criteria: you must be able to produce a current full valid driving licence which has been continuously in force for six months, and you must not work as an entertainer or professional sports person.

If you do not qualify for a courtesy car because you do not meet the above criteria, or a courtesy car is not available, then you will receive up to £250 towards reasonable and necessary alternative transport costs where you are able to provide official receipts.

Who provides the service to customers under my Box Road Rescue Policy?

Intana Assistance – one of Europe’s largest breakdown recovery providers. They will attend at the roadside and attempt to get you on your way. If the vehicle can’t be repaired or it isn’t safe to do so, they will transport your vehicle to your home or a suitable garage for repairs.

If you take out Doorstep cover, Intana Assistance will attend at your home, for example if your car will not start. You can also purchase European cover which extends your cover to Europe (most countries are covered; please see your policy documents for details).

If I break down, what number do I call and what exactly am I covered for? 

The Box Road Rescue number is 01206 812 784. Your Box Road Rescue Policy Documents detail the emergency number and exactly what is covered by your chosen cover level.  Your documents can be printed off from Your Portal in the Your Insurance area, along with your other policy documentation.

What happens if my car doesn't start when I'm at home or within one mile from home?

If you have taken our Doorstep Cover upgrade then we will arrange for an approved mechanic to attend to your car without delay. If your car cannot be repaired at the roadside, the contractor will take your car to the nearest and most suitable repairer.

You can only add breakdown cover when you first buy your policy with insurethebox.
